Marine renewable energy resource characterization aims at providing end-users with information of which level of detail suits the various development stages of a Marine Energy project. In the case of IREMARE and IREMARE-MED projects, information is established at temporal and spatial resolutions that are appropriate for marine energy applications from national down to local scale. It is not only focusing on marine energy potential, it is also providing site-specific description of resource spatial/temporal variability, probability distribution functions, weather windows, etc. Depending on the requested information, it can be displayed using maps, graphs and/or tables. It can tested on this dedicated application: Targeted end-users encompass, but are not limited to the following:
